Quito (Prensa Latina) Ecuador sufre una crisis de seguridad incuestionable que comenzó mucho antes de los sucesos recientes, sin embargo, la escalada de violencia de los últimos días marcó un punto de inflexión y muchos se cuestionan qué hay detrás.
Motines carcelarios, fuga de prisioneros, agentes penitenciarios secuestrados, explosiones, y la transmisión en directo del ataque a un canal de televisión, todo eso en menos de 48 horas, conllevaron al Gobierno a declarar Estado de excepción y reconocer la existencia de un conflicto armado interno.
Este último decreto del presidente Daniel Noboa evidencia hasta qué punto los grupos criminales extendieron su poder y su presencia tanto en el sistema penitenciario como en las calles.
El mandatario afirmó que el país andino está «en guerra» contra las organizaciones narcoterroristas y ratificó que su Gobierno no cederá ante los criminales.
Estamos en un conflicto armado, no internacional, estamos luchando por la paz nacional, estamos luchando también contra grupos terroristas, que hoy en día son más de 20 mil personas que los conforman, enfatizó el gobernante en entrevista con un medio local.
Al menos 10 personas murieron y más de mil fueron detenidas en todo el país en los más de 10 mil operativos por atentados y actos terroristas que efectúan las fuerzas del orden dentro del estado de excepción nacional.
