Primer Hispano nombrado a la Jefatura de la Policia de West Palm Beach.

La ciudad de West Palm Beach confirmó que Antonio «Tony» Araujo fue designado jefe de policía de West Palm Beach.
Araujo, quien fue seleccionado por el alcalde Keith James para ocupar el cargo, fue confirmado por la comisión de la ciudad de West Palm Beach el lunes por la noche. Araujo, quien se ha desempeñado como jefe de policía interino desde el 1 de octubre de 2024, perderá la etiqueta de interino el 3 de marzo.
Araujo se convirtió en el jefe de policía interino después de que James despidiera al exjefe de policía Frank Adderley el 1 de octubre en relación con acusaciones de irregularidades financieras y violación de las políticas de capacitación en una persecución policial.
Adderley ha negado cualquier irregularidad que haya llevado a su destitución.
Araujo trabajó anteriormente para la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Palm Beach durante casi 43 años.

The U.S. Postal Service is hiring for the following positions in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach:

Rural Carrier Associate (RCA) – At $20.28 per hour, an RCA will have a continuous, part-time job. This on-call position could be ideal if one is retired, self-employed, an at-home parent, an educator, night student, or if employed on an evening shift schedule.

An RCA serves families and businesses in rural and suburban areas. This employee is responsible for the delivery and collection of mail, working part-time when regular carriers have scheduled days off or vacation days. An RCA also sells stamps, supplies, and money orders.

An applicant must have a valid state driver’s license and demonstrate and maintain a safe driving record. A personal vehicle may be required. Becoming an RCA is the first step to becoming a full-time, regular rural carrier with full benefits.

Postal Support Employee (PSE) – There are two types of Postal Support Employees, namely PSE Sales and Services/Distribution Associate and PSE Mail Processing Clerk. Each position pays $20.48 per hour.
